Join us and help 'Fuel The Bern' by running (or walking) a 5k loop or 10k double loop around the Back Cove of Portland! This is a fundraising event for Bernie Sanders and the profits of the race will go towards his campaign! Sign up before February 12th and get a sweet free Fuel The Bern 5k/10k T-shirt with the amazing art of local artist Alan Groudle!

$100.00 cash prize to top male/female in both distances. Age group awards. Special awards to 3 most voted for 'Bernie Look-a-like' dressed up runners. Runners, volunteers and Spectators will all be able to vote for their favorite 'Bernie' post race before awards are handed out! 

There will also be a pledge option for runners who choose to find people to pledge a set amount per mile. After the 10k race is finished, there will be a brief break where  the look-alike- contest is done and awards are handed out. If pledged runners choose to forgoe these activities and continue on with there 'Super Fundraising Challenge', they will only be encouraged and supported. For the runners who truly want to test their limits and at the same time bring in funds for Bernie Sanders Campaign! . For every extra mile they continue to run on the 3.5 mile looping course around Back Cove, they will continue to add that amount of $ to the total donation pot! A skeleton Crew (me and probably one other person) will remain at the finish line clock to log miles and be a minimal support crew for the runners (energy bars, gels, water). Happy running!..
